England’s starting lineup for the Nations League match against Greece at Wembley has been confirmed, with some key changes. Captain Harry Kane misses the game after being substituted due to an injury during Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga draw with Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend. Despite undergoing further assessments with the national team, Kane is unavailable for this match, though he may return for Sunday’s fixture against Finland.
Jack Grealish is also absent, while Manchester City defender John Stones takes over the captain’s armband in Kane’s absence. Several players, including Ezri Konsa, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Kobbie Mainoo, have withdrawn from the squad due to injuries. Uncapped players Curtis Jones and Tino Livramento have been called up.
Dominic Solanke, whose last appearance for England was in 2017, could see some game time following a recall, thanks to his strong club form. Meanwhile, manager Lee Carsley has named an attacking lineup that might see Jude Bellingham playing as a false nine, supported by Phil Foden, Anthony Gordon, Cole Palmer, and Bukayo Saka.
